I recently had to change the shape of a board and tried my hand at layout. I found it beneficial to fit all traces on one side of a 2-sided board, allowing for a solid ground plane and reducing the number of vias. It would be helpful to have the option to set priorities when requesting a layout, such as prioritizing fewer layers over a continuous ground plane or shorter traces.
